The fruit Logistica 2010 underlined its position as authoritative, international professional show for the world wide freshpoduce chain.The number of visitors ended up on 53,000, 6% more than previous year.
To show had 2,302 exhibitors from 71 countries. 89 % of the exhibitors came of outside Germany.

Strawberry system for 'Care Farm Boerentroef'
In Holland we have several ‘Care farms’ a ‘Care Farm’ is a regular farm which has assistants and workers that are disabled and people with a ‘restriction’ A’Care Farm helps the people with a restriction to ‘be a farmer’ and so they have a sensible day spending .Care Farm `Boerentroef' from Doetinchem committed herself to offer a sensible day spending to people with a restriction in quiet and protected surroundings. By helping with the care at the farm the `farmers’ have a significant day spending and increase their own value.
Flamingo bears the initiative of this care farm `Boerentroef' and gave them a growing system for the cultivation of strawberries.
‘Boeren Troef’ has a large orchard and many cattle, small and large cattle such as cows. The strawberries cultivation is a new supplement on the day spending programme.
Horti Fair 2009, compact but complete
The Horti Fair 2009, which had 740 participants, was more compact than previous editions, but was at least as complete as in other years.Flamingo is pleased about all the amount of international visitors to thair booth and the demand and large interrest for her used horti machines and her 'Second Life Program'.

The ‘Second Life Program’ guaranties our clients a good, solid machine. Our clients receive a used machine which has been completely reconditioned. Worn out parts will be replaced, the machine has a technical check and will be delivered under warranty, worldwide!
Trough the ‘Second Life Program’ by Flamingo van der Meer investments will be feasible again, machines get a second chance, waste streams are diminished so the sustainability will increase!

"Stefan Stolk from Flamingo van der Meer, Monster Holland. The company is market LEADER in the field of second-hand horticulture material and - machines and advertiser of the first hour on Tuinbouwmarktplaats.nl.
Moreover the company has among others a radio pot on The Hortistation. The relation with Tuinbouwmarktplaats.nl returns says Stolk already far. AGF.nl: 'Still growing strong'
Tholen - The business of flamingo van der Meer is still growing. In 1990 Geert started with his father with the sale of used rolling benches and technical equipment from their garden centre. The garden centre was stopped and the stock were sold separately. That has been down in own management, rapidly and firmly was that realised and that was the start of the company. At the Heenweg they could buy later a parcel for the storage of their first bought up machines.In 1996, they had their first company space in Hoek van Holland. The business wore doing good and Geert and its father worked as a team.
They completed each other good. Unfortunately his father died in the year 2000, and whit that lost he also loses his coach.
He needed, however, a business discussion partner and Geert found that in its uncle. Who step regularly in the current office location in monster, and the matters can then be discussed.
At this moment are there 25 people at work, The company has 2 locations for their stock .
Since 2004 the company has been established to the Vlotlaan in monster where one of the showroom/workshop of 5000 m2 is, whereupon in 2008, 9000 m2 is bought in s‘-Gravenzande. Geert purchased the machines himself and occupy himself mainly with managing the company.
Used equipment is mainly exported, but Geert see also an increase in the Netherlands concerning providing young used machines. " I foresee still an increase in second-hand machines.
The growing markets abroad is asking for that and here in the Netherlands the question to good used machines grows subject to provided under the correct conditions and garanties" , Geert decide.
TruckRun
Also this year the truckdrivers from Flamingo van der Meer participated with a 'TruckRun'With a 'TruckRun' the drivers ride with mentally, visually or differently disableds a ride with a truck and on this way they provide to the 'co-drivers' a great day!
The 13e edition of this 'TruckRun', organised by the coordinating foundation driver activities, were a large success, it was perfectly weather and there was a large rise of trucks!
Over 110 trucks participated this year in the convoy...
WORLD RECORD LARGEST BOWL OF SOUP
Last saturday 16th of may has been the largest pan of soup prepared. Top cook Marco Westmaas with his team and the students of ROC Mondriaan from Den Haag prepared a kettle soup that contents 26.658 litres of soup.Such a pan of soup can only be made with the cooperation of different company's, says Marian Kester of DENK communication. In a short period of time of 5 weeks, 45 companies in the Westland area has been cooperate for a good benefit, the food bank. Small 9.000 families will receive next week a delicious pan of soup with the very best and fresh product from the Westland area. The soup includes 17.500 litres water, 7.440 kg of tomatoes, 1.250 kg of cucumbers, 540 kg of peppers, 825 kg of onions and 2.500 toes of garlic and many other spices.

The Westland area in Holland will present the worlds largest kettle of soup, and Flamingo supports this project off course!
In the Westland area of Holland – the world leading region in the horticultural industry – the will cook the largest kettle of soup in the world the kettle will be coked for the food bank the Netherlands. Who support people in need. The record of Guinness World record stood on 15,000 litres but these week gave to that this record to Guinness stand noted on 25,000 litres. Businesses in the Westland area and the horticulture sector react massively and provide a lot of thousands kilo' s tomatoes, cucumbers, paprika' s, packing and a lot of knowledge and aid for the construction of a delicious tomato – vegetable soup. The enormous commitment and cooperation are characterising for the West area and the horticulture sector. Off course Flamingo support this project as well and helped with some logistic issues.
Flamingo van der Meer expand!
Flamingo van der Meer has a new stockage depot near to her HQ in Monster.Flamingo van der Meer has now the availability of over than 15.000 M2 on stockage capacity.
They are capable now to give a better presentation of their used greenhouse materials and machines to their customers and relations.
The new stockage depot is in 's-Gravenzande - the Westland area in Holland - and is a extension of the existing location.
At this moment there are several companies working on site on the construction and landscaping to prepare the stockage depot for Flamingo van der Meer.

Flamingo van der Meer has co-operated to the build of a tugboat for the boyscouts in the area.'We are a technical company that like to support initiatives that helps youngsters to develop. The reason that we have chosen this organisation is that it been build by his own members.
